Miami, FL. (October 12, 2026) – Born from a years-long friendship, a unique creative chemistry, and an undeniable connection, Cuban duo Gente de Zona and Venezuelan singer-songwriter Elena Rose, a 2026 Latin GRAMMY nominee for Record of the Year, join forces on “Nadie Se Murió,” a collaboration filled with emotion, strength, and the unmistakable joy of Caribbean music. The single and its official music video will be available this Thursday, October 15, at 8:00 PM ET.
Created from scratch in the studio alongside producer Angel “Pututi” Arce, the song seamlessly blends Elena Rose’s alternative pop sensibilities and artistic vision with the tropical and urban DNA of Gente de Zona’s Alexander and Randy.
The track pays tribute to Cuba’s musical roots, taking listeners on a journey through three distinct stages of traditional Cuban music. It begins with the warmth of son montuno, builds into vibrant Cuban salsa infused with timba, and culminates in the explosive energy of a conga santiaguera. “That was the moment we realized Elena can sing whatever she wants,” Randy noted.
Gente de Zona praised Elena Rose’s artistic excellence, discipline, and unique energy, which she brings to their upcoming album, Isla Viva, arriving in 2027. “We’ve known Elena since she was around 18 or 20 years old. We’ve always had a beautiful relationship, and we’d been dreaming of making a song together for a long time,” Randy shared. Alexander added, “Elena has such a beautiful aura and an incredible voice. She’s a great artist, and we’re proud to have her on this album.”

For Elena Rose, the collaboration represents the fulfillment of a dream and an opportunity to work with artists who were part of her early journey. “When I first came to this country, Gente de Zona and Pitbull were in Miami. They’re the kings, that’s how I see it. Their music accompanied me through so many moments when I was working nights and juggling so many things. To see where I am now, to be able to be part of this, moves me deeply. I’m incredibly grateful to see that dreams really do come true,” Elena Rose shared about what collaborating with Gente de Zona means to her. However, this is not the first time their musical paths have crossed: Elena Rose is the songwriter behind Gente de Zona’s global hit “Muchacha.”
Beyond its celebratory sound, “Nadie Se Murió” delivers a powerful message: you can fall in love, get hurt, or feel disappointed, but in the end, no one dies of a broken heart. It’s a song about getting back up, trying again, continuing to believe, and striving every day to become the best version of yourself without losing sight of who you are. It’s a message that resonates with Latinos working hard in this country and constantly striving to be their best.
The release arrives at a successful moment for Gente de Zona, who were recently announced as finalists for the 2026 Billboard Latin Music Awards in the Latin Rhythm Artist of the Year, Duo or Group category. This recognition adds to the momentum behind “Isla Viva,” their collaboration with Juan Magán, which served as the first preview of their highly anticipated album, scheduled for release in 2027.
As part of this exciting chapter, the duo is preparing to return to Miami on December 11 for a major concert at the Kaseya Center as part of their Isla Viva Tour, which has enjoyed tremendous success across Europe. Tickets HERE.
“Nadie Se Murió” not only brings Venezuela and Cuba together through a shared feeling, but also celebrates the power of music to heal, reinvent ourselves, and keep moving forward.
