Miami, FL (April 13, 2026) – Gloria Trevi will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award (Premio Trayectoria Artística) at the fourth annual Billboard Latin Women in Music event, set to take place in Miami on Thursday, April 23 at 9:00 p.m. ET. The ceremony will air live on Telemundo, as well as on the network’s app and Peacock.
This recognition comes shortly after her historic “Live Celebration” concert on February 28, a sold-out show at Los Angeles’ BMO Stadium, where she celebrated nearly four decades in music while paying tribute to Mexican culture.
The two-hour Billboard musical special will celebrate Latina artists who are driving positive change and advocating for inclusion in the music industry.
Gloria Trevi shared: “At this point in my life, receiving this recognition fills me with strength and gratitude. I’ve had to fight hard on many levels to move forward through difficult moments. But this honor confirms to me that whatever comes in life should be faced with honest work and positive actions. Hate is defeated with love, and music is something I love! If you turn a tear into a musical note, it will later become someone else’s joy.”
When Gloria Trevi burst onto the stages of her country in the late 1980s and later conquered Latin America, she marked a turning point for Hispanic female artists. While the industry expected female singers to present themselves with a flawless image and a submissive attitude, La Trevi was the complete opposite: aggressive, rebellious, and outspoken. With her wild attitude, torn stockings, and messy hair, she took the stage to challenge the taboos of the conservative society of the time.
In 2006, the artist released the classic “Todos Me Miran,” which became an anthem for the LGBTQ+ community, and in 2022 it was named by Billboard as one of the best Latin songs of all time. Her achievements continued, and in 2018, Trevi was inducted into the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame (LSHOF).
In 2025, Trevi released her most recent album, “El Vuelo,” featuring popular singles “Q.E.P.D.” and “Cueste Lo Que Cueste,” as well as emotional tracks dedicated to her loved ones, such as “Un Abrazo” and “Arrúllame.”
In recent years, Gloria Trevi has remained one of the highest-grossing Latin artists in the world. According to Pollstar magazine in 2024, the Mexican singer ranked among the women with the highest global concert ticket sales.
