As part of the successful El Último Disco, Vol. 1 universe, highlights include “Buscando El Mar” with Juan Luis Guerra, “Te Dedico,” which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay and Tropical Airplay charts, and “Tuyo y Nada Más,” which reached No. 1 in Colombia, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic and Chile.

Carlos Vives is one of the most nominated artists in Latin GRAMMY® history, with 49 nominations to date.

MIAMI, FL. (September 16, 2026) – Colombian icon Carlos Vives has once again been recognized by the Latin Recording Academy. Named the 2024 Latin GRAMMY® Person of the Year, Vives has been nominated for the 27th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards for his album El Último Disco, Vol. 1, further cementing his place among the most nominated artists in the history of the most prestigious awards in Latin music, with a total of 49 nominations.

His latest musical journey, El Último Disco, Vol. 1, which was highlighted as one of the Albums of the Year by Rolling Stone en Español, is nominated in the “Best Cumbia/Vallenato Album” category. The 27th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards will air live from Las Vegas on Thursday, November 12 at 8 p.m. ET/PT in the United States across TelevisaUnivision platforms.

El Último Disco, Vol. 1 was conceived as a collection of songs to dedicate to others, inviting listeners to reconnect with values such as love, romance, family and genuine human connections. The album represents a return to the essence of making music, bridging roots and modernity through an authentic musical experience. Inspired by the way great albums were made, the project brings live performance back to the forefront. For Vives, it’s also a celebration of his homeland, his people and a way of understanding music at a time of constant transformation within the industry.

Among the album’s highlights are “Te Dedico,” which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay and Tropical Airplay charts; “Tuyo y Nada Más,” which reached No. 1 in Colombia, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic and Chile; “Buscando el Mar” with Juan Luis Guerra, featuring Egidio Cuadrado’s final accordion performance; and “Si Yo Volviera a Nacer” with Sergio George.

This recognition adds to a significant year for Vives, who was recently named a finalist for the 2026 Billboard Latin Music Awards in the Tropical Artist of the Year, Solo category. The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 22 in Miami, Florida.

Carlos Vives will soon bring his Tour al Sol 2026 to Colombia, kicking off at Bogotá’s Movistar Arena with three consecutive performances on September 25 (SOLD OUT), September 26 (limited tickets remaining) and September 27. The first two dates, Friday and Saturday, are open to guests ages 14 and older. The third date, Sunday, September 27, with a special 5:00 p.m. start time, will be an all-ages concert designed for families to enjoy together.
