Miami, FL (June 9, 2026) – Acclaimed Cuban duo Gente de Zona returns to deliver the ultimate gozadera with their electrifying new single, “Isla Viva,” featuring Spanish hitmaker Juan Magán. The vibrant track serves as both the introduction and focus song of their forthcoming album of the same name, scheduled for release in 2027.
“Isla Viva” is more than just a song, it is a musical journey through the joy and spirit of island life. The track perfectly encapsulates Gente de Zona’s core philosophy: pure, unfiltered happiness. The duo created the project as a celebration of their island roots, inviting collaborators such as Juan Magán into their vibrant tropical world rather than chasing current trends. At its core, “Isla Viva” is also a celebration of resilience, a reminder that despite life’s challenges, the human spirit remains alive. Fans do not attend a Gente de Zona concert to mourn heartbreak; they come to celebrate life, and this song delivers exactly that energy.
With Juan Magán adding his signature touch, the single bridges cultures while remaining rooted in authentic tropical rhythms. Following their recent release “Se Le Pasa,” “Isla Viva” marks the next major step in a new era for Gente de Zona; one in which they are more vibrant and tropical than ever.
A decade after their global hit “He Llorado (Como un Niño),” Gente de Zona and Juan Magán reunite for a song that blends the duo’s urban tropical identity with the Spaniard’s signature Latin electronic sound. The result is a summer anthem for audiences across Latin America and Europe, created by two leaders of their respective musical cultures. Much like “La Gozadera,” the song celebrates a massive party spanning cities and islands around the world, making it instantly relatable to listeners from many different countries.
The single is also a celebration of the essence of Cuba, which, according to Gente de Zona, “is more alive than ever” and on the verge of a renaissance.
While it is usually a song that lends its name to an album, this project followed the opposite path. Randy Malcom and Alexander Delgado had already decided to title the album Isla Viva before choosing to give one of the songs on the project the same name.
“‘Isla Viva’ was created during the making of the album,” explains Randy Malcom. “At first, it was called ‘La Vida’ because it came from a different perspective about enjoying life to the fullest. But when we decided on the album title, Alexander came up with ‘Isla Viva,’ which gives even more meaning to our country and everything that is happening there. Cuba is more alive than ever. That is the concept, bringing people into our tropical world. That is why this song deserved to carry the album’s title.”
Alexander Delgado adds: “I believe the greatest joy for us Latinos is still found on the islands. We come from an island ourselves, and the concept of both the album and the song is that we will be telling stories from an island perspective, reflecting everything that is happening throughout each track on the album.”
The single also lends its name to Gente de Zona’s upcoming European tour, which already includes more than 25 confirmed dates. The song will make its live debut during the tour and will be performed at every stop, including Madrid’s Movistar Arena. Tickets are now available through Ticketmaster and gdzoficial.com.
