Miami, FL (April 27, 2026) – Colombian icon Carlos Vives kicked off the U.S. leg of his acclaimed international Tour al Sol 2026 this past Friday, April 24, at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, where he was joined by his daughter, Lucy Vives, and producer Sergio George.
Following the first two stops in the Canadian cities of Toronto and Montreal, thousands of fans in the Big Apple filled the venue to capacity and witnessed this musical journey that follows the path of the sun. With new technologies and a striking visual production, the iconic sun of La Provincia lit up the entire stage.
Featuring a vibrant setlist that blended unforgettable classics with previews of his upcoming album, “El Último Disco Vol. 1,” the evening began with two of Carlos Vives’ biggest hits, “Volví a Nacer” and “La Bicicleta,” along with new songs like “Tuyo y Nada Más,” which will be part of the project set for release in May and is already generating buzz.
The concert in New York was full of special moments, such as when the singer’s daughter, Lucy Vives, joined her father to perform the hit “Fruta Fresca.” Meanwhile, producer Sergio George took part with Carlos Vives on the song “Si Yo Volviera a Nacer,” a collaboration between the two included on the Colombian artist’s new album.
From “El Último Disco Vol. 1,” the singer-songwriter also performed the lead single, “Te Dedico,” a moment that sparked great emotion when a woman revealed her pregnancy to her husband.
It also drew attention when Simón Cifuentes, a young multi-instrumentalist, played the double bass and the cuatro during the performance of “La Tierra del Olvido.”
The audience also enjoyed an emotional medley of classics that included “La Hamaca Grande,” “La Gota Fría,” and “El Cantor de Fonseca,” along with hits like “La Cañaguatera,” “Carito,” and “Pa’ Mayte,” which have reaffirmed Carlos Vives as one of the leading exponents of Colombian music worldwide.
As he continues his tour and prepares for the release of his album, Carlos Vives is promoting the project’s second single, “Buscando el Mar,” a duet with Juan Luis Guerra inspired by the classic novel One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez.
