Carlos Vives To Be Recognized for Leading Cultural and Sustainability Efforts in Colombia through his foundation “Tras La Perla”
Carlos Vives Confirmed for Performance at Premios Juventud, joining Grupo Niche and Sergio George
The artist performed this past weekend at Festival Cordillera in Bogotá, closing the first night with an unforgettable show.
He also announced a Colombian tour for 2026.
MIAMI, FL. (September 15, 2025) – Colombian music icon Carlos Vives will be recognized as this year’s “Agent of Change” at Premios Juventud 2025. This honor celebrates his unwavering commitment to social impact, community development, and cultural preservation throughout Latin America. The awards show, which will broadcast live from Panama City on Thursday, September 25 at 7 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. CT on Univision, UNIMÁS, Galavisión, and ViX, will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by showcasing the rich culture and talent of Latin America from one of its most dynamic cities.
The “Agent of Change” recognition highlights Vives’ dedication to cultural and community development in Colombia and Latin America. Through his foundation, Tras La Perla, he leads sustainable initiatives focused on improving infrastructure, promoting high-quality education, strengthening leadership and individual agency, and enhancing local resources and talent in Santa Marta and surrounding areas. Founded in 2015, Tras La Perla has worked to coordinate public and private efforts to generate sustainable development and concrete opportunities, with projects ranging from the restoration of urban and natural spaces to the strengthening of artistic expression and access to quality education.


Carlos Vives will perform on the Premios Juventud stage alongside the legendary Grupo Niche, delivering a new salsa rendition of his classic “La Tierra del Olvido.” Together, they promise one of the night’s most anticipated and impactful performances, followed by an electrifying surprise collaboration with Sergio George.
This news comes on the heels of the spectacular concert Vives delivered in Bogotá on the first day of Festival Cordillera, this past September 13. With an 80-minute show featuring 14 generational hits, pyrotechnics, stunning light displays, and flawless visuals, he had over 20,000 people singing, jumping, and dancing nonstop. It was the perfect moment to announce that he will tour across Colombia in 2026.
