Miami, FL. (May 14, 2025) – Walk the streets of Cuba today, and one genre dominates the soundscape for young listeners: Reparto. Reconnecting with their roots and the rhythms that shaped them, iconic Cuban duo Gente de Zona presents their new album, “Reparto by Gente de Zona.” This 12-track project is rich with emotion, as Randy Malcom and Alexander Delgado return to their birthplace to uplift Reparto—a rising Cuban music movement—and champion a new generation of cuban artists deserving global recognition. “Reparto by Gente de Zona” will be available on all digital platforms on May 15, 2025.
“The Reparto is a genre that draws from the roots of Cuban timba, guaracha, guaguancó, rumba, and with this album, we fuse Reparto with the tropical and urban rhythms that define Gente de Zona’s sound. That’s why it’s titled ‘Reparto by Gente de Zona,’ with our style,” explained Alexander Delgado about the new album. “With Reparto, we’re showing the world an evolution of Cuban reggaetón that defines our culture, taking it to new frontiers so people can enjoy it and recognize it. At the same time, we want to shine a light on these new artists who are leading the authentic Reparto movement in our country,” added Randy Malcom.
For this new album, the duo collaborated with new producers who brought a unique perspective on today’s Cuban urban music. Producers on the album include Randy Malcom himself, Angel “Arce” Pututi, DJ Conds, Dale Pututi, DJ Cham, Romn Beatz, Gatillo, Haned Mota, and Christian Iván Rodríguez.
“La Conga” is the opening track of “Reparto by Gente de Zona”, and is a rhythm that blends many elements of Cuban music, and was chosen as the album’s intro because it introduces all the artists who participated in the project. Ahead of the album’s release, they released several singles, including “Almohada” featuring El Metaliko, which stands out with its symphonic sound that combines traditional Cuban charanga and chamber orchestra with modern elements like bolero guitar, touches of rock, and the electronic instrumentation of timba; “Cosas Bonitas” featuring L Kimii, El Kamel and Los Muñequitos de Matanzas; “Se Trata” in collaboration with Dany Ome and Kevincito El 13; and the self-love anthem “Rico Cantidad” with Dale Pututi and L Kimii — all connecting audiences with this Cuban sound that has been playing on the island for years.
With unmatched sonic richness, “Reparto by Gente de Zona” premieres alongside the new single and music video “La Guagua,” in collaboration with Wow Popy and Zurdo MC. “La Guagua” is a rhythmic, catchy song for everyone to enjoy. Directed by Guillermo Figueredo, the video features Miss Universe finalist Marianela Ancheta and follows the four artists on a nighttime journey through the streets of Miami. The video will be available today at 7:00pm via Gente de Zona Youtube channel HERE.
