Miami, FL. (August 23, 2024) – Colombian icon Carlos Vives collaborates with Carín León and Dominican rapper Chimbala on “La Chancleta,” a song that ventures into Caribbean tropicality. “La Chancleta” is now available on all digital platforms.
Throughout the song, Carlos Vives represents the tropical rhythms and flavors from the Colombian coast, while Carín León showcases once again his musical versatility in this powerful collaboration, which also features the Dominican dembow of Chimbala, resulting in a dream Latin union.
The performers and Santiago de Jesús, Geraldy Reyez Volquez, and Bryan Peguero (B-One) composed the track and produced it alongside Andrés Leal.
In the single, the flip-flop or “chancleta” – a Latin cultural symbol – becomes the thread that ties together this story of overcoming heartbreak, where there’s no time for sorrow but plenty for enjoying life and friendships.
The spectacular music video, filmed in Miami and directed by Jessy Terrero, whisks us away to desert landscapes, where the performers immerse themselves in a series of parties where dancing takes center stage.
“This is how we, men, suffer when we’re treated like a flip-flop,” Carlos Vives said about the song. “It was like being on a movie set for a Western, with Carin Eastwood and Chimbala Wayne,” Vives added about the videoclip.
