Miami, FL. (July 21, 2023) – Jenni Rivera remains alive in the hearts of her entire audience, and her children want to continue the legacy that “Diva de la Banda” began. Last night, during the twentieth edition of Premios Juventud, her daughters Jacquie Rivera, Chiquis and Jenicka López took over the stage to pay tribute to the Diva de la Banda with an unforgettable and emotional performance to show that their mother’s musical legacy continues stronger than ever.
During their performance, Chiquis, Jacquie Rivera, and Jenicka López premiered their most recent single “Pedacito de Mí” on national television, which is part of Jenni Rivera’s new posthumous album Misión Cumplida. One of the most memorable moments during the performance was the microphone with roses placed in the middle of them, representing Jenni Rivera, which lit up every time her voice sounded in the interpretation of “Pedacito de Mí”.
In the same way, they paid tribute to their mother with the scenery showing photographs of their different life stages as a family. At the end of the performance, Johnny López, son of Jenni Rivera, made a special appearance to honor his mother once again. Without a doubt, it was the most emotional and magical performance of the night.
The presentation took place last night, July 20, at the twentieth installment of the Premios Juventud from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico for the second consecutive year.
“Pedacito de Mí” takes flight on a soulful and spirited vocal written by Jenni for Johnny during her pregnancy with him. Digging through the vaults, she left behind a reference track for what would become “Pedacito De Mií” and her children put the finishing touches in it. It represented a full circle moment as they honored their mother in the best way possible:with music.““It feels truly special that my mom started this for me and we are completing it for her with the help of my siblings,” Johnny added. “It feels like a two way gift: Her to me, and us to her.”
“Pedacito de mí” is part of Jenni Rivera‘s new posthumous album, “Misión Cumplida”, which includes eight previously unreleased tracks featuring the late icon’s instantly recognizable vocals as powerful as ever, presented by Jenni Rivera Estate.
