(February 8, 2023) – During the pandemic, Cadiz-born singer and songwriter Fran Rozzano made social media instantly fall in love with his unique sound, fusing flamenco inspired by his hometown (Cádiz, Spain) combined with an urban Latin flare, led by some of Latin music’s biggest producers. Signed to Pina Records, Rozzano returns with a unique style all his own to release his anticipated new single “Como Sabes,” a melancholic song that is characterized by its acoustic sound and an explosive bass that will make your heart race. Produced by Tainy, Fran Rozanno, Antonio Rozzano (Rozzano’s brother) and Raphy Pina, “Como Sabes” was born to the Rozzano brothers 4 years ago, however, both its lyrics and rhythm would mature through time, making the track what it is today. “The song speaks to the emotional instability someone has who is no longer with the person they love and makes the mistake of trying to fill the void with someone else. In the end, you’re hurting yourself, and the other person, because you’re not with the person you love,” said Fran Rozzano about the inspiration behind the song which was derived from personal experience.
In addition to the combination of acoustic and urban sounds, highlighted by drums and bass, you can also appreciate the Arab influence throughout the track, which is part of Rozzano’s roots. “At first, we wanted the track to be very acoustic, so the piano was used as a base to make it feel deeper. For his part, Tainy collaborated on drums and bass, which undoubtedly elevated the instrumental portion. I always try to merge different styles into one song, so my personality and influences are noticeable: influences include Arab melodies, ballads and reggaeton,” explained Fran Rozzano.
The official music video was filmed in Miami, Florida and was directed by Marlon Peña, who’s previously worked with Daddy Yankee and Natti Natasha, among other A-list artists. In the video, Rozzano appears in a desert surrounded by pythons, which represent a woman who is no longer by your side, however, whose poison (i.e. feelings) is still consuming him. The freefall portion of the video represents the damage he’s causing to himself, while trying to fill a void.
“Como Sabes” is a preview of what will be Rozzano’s official debut album with Pina Records, “ANUBIS”, including a more melancholic side with this single as compared to previous singles “Inédito” and “Tóxico”. It’s important to note that it was during the video “Inédito” that Rozzano revealed to the world Natti Natasha’s and Raphy Pina’s undying love for each other. The album, which will be released soon, includes the participation of Natti Natasha and elite Latin producers such as Tainy, Hydro, Mambo Kingz and Justin Quiles.
Originally from Cádiz, Spain, the Spanish singer, songwriter and producer began by creating covers on YouTube. One day, while sifting through social media, he found a once in a lifetime opportunity … a social media challenge, “You have a Minute” (#TienesUnMinuto), hosted by Pina Records Owner & CEO, Raphy Pina, which was held during the pandemic in October 2020. In 24 hours, Fran Rozzano’s life would change, and he would embark on a musical journey that many would only dream of.
