PRE-ORDER “CUMBIANA II” HERE.
Miami, FL. (May 4, 2022) – After the success of his most recent single “Baloncito Viejo” with Camilo, which is currently #1 in Colombia, Carlos Vives launches the pre-order for his much-anticipated new album Cumbiana II today, via Sony Music Latin HERE. The album, which features collaborations with Ricky Martin, Pedro Capo, Fito Paez, Mau and Ricky, and more, follows on the success story of the award-winning album Cumbiana, and through collaborations shows how in music, we are all “united in diversity.”
Prior to the album, Vives had already released some collaborations from Cumbiana II, paving the way for this long-awaited release. “Canción Bonita”, a tribute to Puerto Rico with global icon Ricky Martin, trended in 19 countries and was nominated for 2 Latin Grammys. Then came “Besos en Cualquier Horario,” alongside Mau and Ricky and his daughter Lucy Vives, which after becoming a digital trend, achieved a Guinness World Record.
Vives gives fans a taste of Cumbiana II last week by releasing new track “Solo,” followed by “Babel” earlier this week, with legend Fito Paez paying tribute to Argentine Rock.

His award-winning work “Cumbiana” includes not only an album but also the Latin GRAMMY®-winning documentary “The lost world of Cumbiana”, and the book “Cumbiana, stories of a lost world”, exposing a true creative universe around the origin and the evolution of cumbia. In 2015, he founded the initiative “Tras La Perla” to promote sustainable development in the city of Santa Marta and its region influenced by the Sierra Nevada and Ciénaga Grande. In 2016, he also created the Río Grande Music School with the purpose of offering new artistic experiences based on creating a dialogue around Colombian music and culture, new local music proposals and world music. As his most beloved slogan indicates, “united in diversity”, Carlos Vives has made his mark across generations through music and the relentless and inspired advocacy for his culture. Vives is set to release “Cumbiana 2” in 2022.
