Miami, FL (July 31, 2026) – Ana Isabelle and Gilberto Santa Rosa reunite for “Se Pasa Rico,” the second single from the soundtrack of the film Fight Back, further showcasing the special bond that has united the two Puerto Rican artists for years.
The song is a vibrant salsatón, a fusion of salsa and reggaetón, that celebrates Puerto Rican culture during one of the most memorable scenes in Fight Back, the film created, produced, and starring Ana Isabelle.
The singer-songwriter, dancer, and actress explained that the song “was created specifically for one of the most special scenes in Fight Back. It’s the moment when this group of karate athletes arrives in Puerto Rico to compete in the Caribbean Tournament, and the film showcases some of the island’s most iconic landmarks, including El Morro, El Yunque, Río Grande, and our beaches.”
Ana Isabelle wrote “Se Pasa Rico” with Latin Grammy-nominated songwriter Juan José Hernández with the goal of creating a salsatón track that “celebrates our culture and captures, in a single phrase, the essence of Puerto Rico: here, life is good.”
The singer recalled that the salsa artist has been part of her life since she was born. Her father, trumpeter Carmelo Acevedo, was a member of the salsa legend’s orchestra for 10 years. “I grew up listening to his music and seeing him up close, long before I ever imagined we would one day share the stage. Over the years, our relationship also grew stronger artistically. We’ve had the opportunity to perform together at some very special venues, including Carnegie Hall in New York,” she said.
“When it came time to create the soundtrack for Fight Back, my first feature film as an executive producer, I knew I wanted a tropical song to accompany the protagonists’ arrival in Puerto Rico and celebrate our roots. I couldn’t think of anyone better than Gilberto for that moment. I presented him with the idea, and with the generosity that has always defined him, he immediately said yes,” Ana Isabelle concluded.
