Miami, FL. (April 8, 2026) – After four years away from releasing music, Lucy Vives returns with her new single “Mascacielo,” a bold and deeply personal track that marks the beginning of a new artistic era. The release is accompanied by the official music video, expanding the song’s conceptual and visual universe.
Built around a word entirely invented by Vives, “Mascacielo” draws from the childhood phrase “comerse el cielo,” a message passed down by her mother and grandmother about dreaming without limits and fully claiming one’s desires. The song transforms this idea into a powerful statement of identity, freedom, and self-belief, capturing the feeling of achieving what once felt impossible.
“‘Mascacielo’ had to be the first. There was no debate. It came from pure intuition, from writing, to producing, to creating the visual identity. It was all driven by a sense of intense joy and a desire to reconnect with moments from my childhood,” Vives shares.
Sonically, the track explores an evolution into alternative pop, blending nostalgic influences from early 2000s Latin pop and electro-pop with a fresh, modern energy. With a catchy bassline and vibrant melodies, “Mascacielo” delivers an uplifting and liberating sound that reflects Vives’ current creative approach, one rooted in authenticity rather than trends.
Written in Mexico City alongside producer Ole Aguilar and artist Eva de Marce, the song came together organically during one of Vives’ first sessions for this new project. The experience marked a turning point in her process, allowing her to create from a place of confidence, instinct, and creative freedom.
The official music video further expands the song’s message through a highly visual and symbolic narrative, exploring formative moments of identity, curiosity, and self-discovery. Inspired by childhood experiences and the idea of exploring one’s inner world, the visual highlights that “comerse el cielo” is not only about grand achievements, but also about embracing personal, often private milestones.
“‘Mascacielo’ is about believing in yourself with the same freedom you feel when you’re dancing like no one is watching, or singing alone in your room,” Vives adds.
With this release, Lucy Vives steps into a new chapter defined by creative clarity, emotional honesty, and a commitment to building her own artistic universe, one project at a time: “This release is just a beginning… but above all, it represents freedom. It’s dedicated to my inner child.”
