Miami, FL (September 24, 2026) – Lucy Vives presents “Por Algo Será,” a new alternative pop single that uses the idea of the end of the world to explore the connection between two people and what remains when everything else seems to disappear. Inspired by her fascination with quantum physics, Lucy explores the phenomenon of simply thinking about someone and, suddenly, receiving a call from them, the idea of communication and connection without words. If you think of someone, can they somehow feel it? She also poses a question that is as simple as it is revealing: What would happen if the world ended today, and in the midst of all that chaos, what would be the first thing you would do?
The answer came naturally during the songwriting process: a person, a love. From there, Lucy built an almost cinematic story of two people overcoming obstacles and impossible circumstances to find each other before it is too late, transforming an apocalyptic idea into an intimate reflection on what we truly value when it feels like time is running out.
Musically, “Por Algo Será” moves between alternative pop, synths, bass, and a commanding vocal hook, creating an atmosphere that balances the epic with the intimate. Written by Lucy Vives, with instrumental composition alongside Ole Aguilar, who also handled production and recording, the song was created entirely remotely between Mexico City, New York, and Bogotá.

The release is accompanied by a music video filmed in New York and co-directed by Lucy Vives alongside César Balcázar, where the idea of the end of the world takes on a much more personal meaning. Through the love story of two women, the visual captures the emotional extremes of a relationship, from the euphoria of being deeply in love to moments of conflict and the loneliness that follows when everything falls apart. Rather than portraying a literal apocalypse, Lucy and her team explore how the end of a relationship can feel just as definitive, dramatic, and devastating: when someone becomes your world, losing them can feel like losing that world entirely.
With an urban, documentary-inspired aesthetic unfolding across the streets of Brooklyn and the intimacy of a New York apartment, the music video traces a relationship from its beginning and growing intensity to its eventual end. The visual also reveals a more provocative, sensual, and vulnerable side of Lucy, offering an honest representation of a part of her identity that has been present since the beginning of her public career.
Set against a world increasingly shaped by uncertainty, division, chaos, and violence, the video also serves as a reminder of something fundamentally human: our capacity to feel and connect. Through “Por Algo Será,” Lucy presents love in its rawest and most human form, exploring it as a powerful response in moments when the world around us feels increasingly uncertain.
“Por Algo Será” is also the only song on Lucy’s upcoming EP explicitly centered on romantic love. She envisions the project as a storybook made up of different chapters, with each song exploring its own distinct world while remaining connected through a sonic identity shaped by synths, bass, and expansive vocal hooks.

With “Por Algo Será,” Lucy continues building the universe of her debut EP, arriving this November and marking a new chapter in her artistic project. The release further reflects her multidisciplinary creative approach, with Lucy extending her vision beyond songwriting and performance into the visual storytelling surrounding her music.
The next step is bringing these songs to the stage. Lucy will give the first live performance of this new project on October 9 in Miami, where she will open for Cain Culto. Following the EP, she plans to bring the project to more stages throughout 2027 while beginning to build toward her debut full-length album.
