Miami, FL (May 28, 2026) — 2x Latin GRAMMY® nominee and Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Jay Wheeler has officially released his highly anticipated new album, La Voz Favorita. Released via Dynamic Records and distributed by EMPIRE, the project arrives following the breakout success of the lead single “De Lejitos,” which debuted in the Top 3 worldwide on YouTube and surpassed 1.5 million Spotify streams within its first 24 hours, further cementing Jay Wheeler as one of Latin music’s leading voices.
On La Voz Favorita, Jay Wheeler delivers his most personal and complete project to date. The album opens with Wheeler expressing gratitude to his wife, family, team, producers, and managers, crediting them for helping shape the artist and person he has become as “La Voz Favorita.” The project’s first three tracks are intentionally connected, introducing the evolution of Jay Wheeler and setting the tone for the emotional journey that follows. Across 24 tracks, Wheeler returns to his Trap roots while blending R&B, reggaetón, and the romantic sound that first connected him with fans, showcasing the different sides of his artistry. With collaborations from artists including Mora, Luar La L, Marcelo Rubio, Deimi, and Kennyy, and more, the album stands as Wheeler’s most defining body of work yet.
Throughout the album, Wheeler balances emotional storytelling with experimentation and personal tributes. The album’s focus track, “Rubio,” is a heartfelt tribute to his grandfather, who introduced him to salsa music and helped shape his musical identity. Watch the music Video to “Rubio” HERE.
“Tiffany” featuring Mora captures the chemistry and creative risk-taking that have made their collaborations fan favorites. Tracks like “SLTF” reflect the collaborative energy behind the album, evolving naturally in the studio into one of the project’s standout moments. Elsewhere, “No Es Sano” highlights Wheeler’s admiration for strong songwriting and storytelling, while “Modelito” came together organically after a livestream introduction led to a collaboration with Colombian artist Lusiter. More intimate records like “Corazón de Lego” and “Castillo” are rooted in real-life relationships and vulnerability, reinforcing Wheeler’s goal of creating an album that feels both deeply personal and sonically diverse.
“This album is really special to me because I’ve always called myself ‘La Voz Favorita,’ but I had never created a project around that name before,” shares Jay Wheeler. “I wanted to make my fans proud by giving them the romantic songs they love while also experimenting with different sounds. This album has a little bit of everything, and to me, that’s what makes it ‘La Voz Favorita.’ Every time I listen to it, it reminds me of when I first started calling myself ‘La Voz Favorita,” it became part of who I am and how fans know me: I just hope everyone enjoys the album — that’s what matters most to me.”
