Miami, FL (October 24, 2025) – The legendary Elvis Crespo was honored with the prestigious Billboard Hall of Fame Award during one of the most memorable nights of his career. With an explosive performance alongside Toño Rosario, Ebenezer Guerra, and La Insuperable, the tropical music icon debuted his new single “Borrón y Cuenta Nueva” from his album “Poeta Herío” for the first time on television. On a stage inspired by traditional Caribbean colmaditos, Crespo ignited the crowd and celebrated the essence of merengue in its purest form.
Upon receiving the recognition, Elvis Crespo expressed: “I thank God for allowing me to live this present, unique, and different moment in my life. When I decided to get into music, I never imagined I would experience something like this. I truly thank Jehovah for the gift he’s given me to entertain.
I dedicate this award to my first manager, my mother, Irene, who used to give me $5 every Friday for my singing lessons in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico. Irene, this is for you! To Diomedes, my father, thank you — the Crespo family gave me the ability to make music. To my children (Elvis Francisco, Kelvin, Alanis Thais, Elvis Lee), who are here with me today — and, to my daughter Génesis, who couldn’t be here today – this is for you too.
To the entire industry, thank you for welcoming me. I once heard that you don’t make friends in the music business — that’s a lie. Here, you make friends for life. The emotional moment was presented by Jorge Pabón “El Molusco” and Alex Sensation, who highlighted Elvis Crespo’s legacy and global influence as one of the most important figures in tropical music history. They also surprised everyone with a major announcement: on January 3, 2026, Elvis will return to the Coliseo de Puerto Rico with a special concert: “Elvis Crespo: El Colmadito Choli Edition.”
