Honoring the greatest creators of Latin music in the world, their unforgettable songs, as well as helping to develop future generations of songwriters through workshops, showcases, and digital initiatives.
Miami, FL (October 9, 2025) – The Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame (LSHOF) proudly announces the official host and featured appearances for the 12th anniversary gala of the LA MUSA AWARDS, taking place Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Flamingo Theater in Miami.
This year’s ceremony will be hosted by Cuban-American actor and singer Jason Canela, known for his work across television, film, and stage. With his charisma and deep connection to Latin culture, Canela will bring energy and star power to one of the most prestigious celebrations honoring Latin songwriters and composers.
The evening will include a special segment featuring acclaimed Mexican-American artist MŌRIAH, who will take part in an on-stage presentation celebrating the cultural legacy and influence of Latin music throughout the decades.
Additionally, Nicaraguan singer-songwriter and multiple Latin GRAMMY Award winner Luis Enrique—widely recognized as El Príncipe de la Salsa and one of the most influential voices in Latin pop and tropical music—will join the gala in a special presentation honoring the impact of songwriting on Latin identity and global culture.
A moving tribute will honor the legendary Mexican songwriter José Alfredo Jiménez, whose timeless classic “El Rey” will be celebrated as The Song of All Time for its monumental cultural influence and enduring global success. His son, José Alfredo Jiménez Medel, will attend the event to accept his father’s posthumous induction into the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame, commemorating a legacy that continues to inspire generations of Latin music creators.
As previously announced, the 2025 Class of Inductees includes:
- Enrique Bunbury: Spanish singer-songwriter (Zaragoza) who redefined Latin rock through his innovative artistry.
- Andrés Castro: Colombian producer, musician, and songwriter, creator of countless global hits.
- Jorge Luis Piloto: Renowned Cuban songwriter with more than 500 songs recorded by major international stars.
- Lalo Schifrin (posthumous): Argentine pianist, composer, and conductor, internationally acclaimed for the Mission: Impossible score.
- Mónica Vélez: Acclaimed Mexican songwriter whose songs have surpassed 4.6 billion streams worldwide.

The 12th Anniversary Gala of La Musa Awards will kick off with a black carpet at 6:00 p.m., welcoming honorees, special guests, and members of the media. The awards presentation will start promptly at 8:00 p.m., featuring moving tributes and acceptance remarks from honorees and inductees.
