Earlier this year, Elvis Crespo returned to the Top 10 of Billboard’s Tropical Airplay chart with a new version of “Nuestra Canción” with Jerry Rivera
Miami, Florida (September 10, 2025) — On the heels of his latest album release “Poeta Herío,” which marks a turning point in Elvis Crespo’s career, Elvis became a finalist for the Billboard Latin Music Awards 2025, once again standing out among the artists leading the tropical music scene. The Billboard Latin Music Awards 2025 will take place on Thursday, October 23 at 8:00 p.m. EST at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, FL and will be broadcast live on Telemundo.
Crespo is a finalist in the “Tropical Artist of the Year – Solo” category. In 2025, Elvis returned to the Billboard charts after more than five years with a new version of “Nuestra Canción” with Jerry Rivera, which debuted at No. 10 on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay chart and has gone viral across social media.
Regarding the recognition, Crespo said: “I was in the studio recording a new track, when I got the news. First, I thank God for the gift of being an entertainer, and I thank all the people who have made this possible. I have a wonderful team. Thanks to Billboard and Telemundo for believing in me and for allowing me to celebrate that, after so many years, I’m still embraced by audiences. That makes me feel fortunate, blessed, and definitely grateful because they continue to support what I do.”
Elvis’s latest musical project, “Poeta Herío,” marks a bold and deeply personal chapter in the icon’s legendary career and has sparked a rebirth for Crespo that has reached a massive audience across the U. S., Latin America, Spain, and the Caribbean. Released through Puntería Records/Sony Music Latin, the album blends heartbreak and healing with vibrant rhythms and collaborations that have united generations of artists, including Arcángel, Ebenezer Guerra, El Blachy, Fariana, Ivy Queen, Jerry Rivera, La Insuperable, Luck-Ra, Oscarito, Toño Rosario, and Víctor Manuelle. It also captures the essence of love lost and found through the global vision of the tropical sound that Crespo has pioneered for over two decades.
Elvis Crespo recently created an innovative tour concept to reach his audience and bring traditional music to neighborhoods across the United States and the Caribbean. Initiating in the summer of 2025, and concluding during Hispanic Heritage Month in October, Crespo continues his Bodega Tour 2025: El Barrio Canta, making surprise visits to iconic bodegas and colmados in different cities across Puerto Rico and the United States with a series of free musical performances set in intimate, everyday, and cultural spaces within Latino communities. The origin of this tour began in 2025, when Crespo filmed three of his most recent videos—“Luna Llena” with Ebenezer Guerra, “Me Mataron” with El Blachy, and “Borrón y Cuenta Nueva” with Toño Rosario, La Insuperable, and Ebenezer Guerra—in real Dominican colmados, vibrantly capturing the life that exists within these spaces. The Bodega Tour visited Puerto Rico, New York, New Jersey, Miami, and Philadelphia, and will head to Chicago, Connecticut, and Los Angeles. Each show will be revealed just days in advance through Elvis Crespo’s social media channels and media outlets.
