Washington, D.C. (September 5, 2025) – Last night at the Warner Theater, Mexican trailblazer Gloria Trevi proved what legends are made of, receiving the prestigious 2025 Hispanic Heritage Legend Award in a night that celebrated Latino pride and unity. Trevi joined fellow honorees Cheech Marin, Felix Contreras, Julissa Prado, and Rauw Alejandro at the Hispanic Heritage Awards, premiering nationally on PBS and PBS.org on September 26.

The tribute, presented by actress and executive producer Gina Torres, highlighted Trevi’s incomparable career and cultural influence before she delivered a powerful, emotional medley of “El Recuento de los Daños,” “Con los Ojos Cerrados,” and “No Querías Lastimarme”—bringing the audience to its feet in a standing ovation.

In her moving acceptance speech, Trevi said: “This recognition would not exist without the Latino community that works and fights tirelessly for their dreams, their families, and themselves. This award is like an embrace of hope for humanity, a humanity that’s capable of more tenderness.”
The honor caps a milestone year for Trevi. Her latest album, El Vuelo, has surpassed 20 million Spotify streams, featuring viral tracks “QEPD,” “El Vuelo,” “Un abrazo,” and “Cueste lo Que Cueste.” She also recently graced the cover of Rolling Stone Español, ushering in a new era for the Mexican icon.
