Miami, FL (June 21, 2024) – The GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY®-nominated singer-songwriter Lupita Infante is inviting you to take a trip to the beach with the release of “Podemos (No Volver a la Ciudad)”, a uniquely summery take on Musica Mexicana. The track masterfully blends traditional mariachi with elements of Latin pop and banda music, resulting in a distinctive fusion that stands out within the current musical landscape of the genre. As the granddaughter of the most respected and legendary Mexican musician and actor of all time, Pedro Infante, Lupita Infante’s status as a critically adored Musica Mexicana continues to flourish with this out-of-the-box release.
Written alongside Raquel Sofía, Amanda Coronel, and Nadir Cortés, the track came about during a 2-day vacation to Mexico City that was only intended to be a carefree getaway. The excursion turned into a productive musical journey, and the talented songwriters created 4 songs in 2 days, one being her previously released single “Tengo Mal Gusto” (listen here).Describing the significance of the tracks she recorded on the vacation, Lupita states “These songs hold a special place in my heart as they were born from beautiful sessions, shared in the company of wonderful women”
The music video to “Podemos (No Volver a la Ciudad)”, which was filmed on the “Isla de la Piedra” in Mazatlan, Mexico, where Pedro Infante, Lupita’s grandfather, was born, will be released today at 6 PM EST on Lupita’s Official YouTube Channel.
The video beautifully captures the essence of the song, radiating the Mexican Summer Dream that comes alive when you listen to this track. Filming in the town where her legendary grandfather was born, only further exemplifies how her grandfather is continuously present in the composition of her music. In a recent Billboard article, Lupita addressed the importance of belonging to the Infante Dynasty, stating “It is a great privilege.
