Miami, FL (May 21, 2024) – The Venezuelan starlet, Manu Manzo, pays tribute to her country Venezuela with an iconic cover of the song “La Vaca Mariposa”, a song that represents her culture and, as she expresses, “everyone from Venezuelan inside and outside the country, knows it and sings with pride.” This new cover by Manu Manzo is the focus of the musical project “Criollas”, led by the renowned Argentine artist Soledad Pastorutti, the multi-award-winning producer Rafa Sardina, and the Grammy Award-winning producer, Leandro Álvarez. This project is a catalog album that brings together 10 outstanding Latin American artists from different musical genres to perform a typical song from their respective countries.
“La Vaca Mariposa”, a song written by the renowned Venezuelan composer and cuatrista Simón Díaz, regains a new meaning in the voice of Manu Manzo. The song is characterized by its modern touches, R&B, relaxed vibe and an iconic four-piece solo, to achieve a unique connection with the listener.
“I would say that there is no Venezuelan who does not know ‘La Vaca Mariposa’. It’s a song I grew up with and it was one of the first songs I was taught when I played the cuatro as a child. I am extremely happy to be part of this project, to represent my country and perform a song by the icon Simón Díaz is an honor as he is one of my biggest inspirations. I hope people like this new version, to which we gave some modern touches that are in line with my vibe,” said Manu Manzo, who commented that Leandro Álvarez, with whom he previously worked on his album LUNA EN GEMINIS, was the one who gave him approached to be part of the project.
Renowned artists also participating in the project include Paty Cantu, Raquel Sofía, Debí Nova, Natalie Pérez, Daniela Darcourt, Adma Andrade, Francisca Valenzuela, Techy Fatule and Paula Arenas.
