Miami, FL (May 7, 2024) – The GRAMMY® and Latin-GRAMMY® nominated Mexican-American singer & songwriter, Lupita Infante, and granddaughter of the legendary Pedro Infante, was honored by The California Latino Legislative Caucus at the 22nd Annual Latino Spirit Awards ceremony. Lupita Infante received two awards, including The Latino Spirit Award: Huichol Beaded Bear, one of its kind in the country, and the California State Legislative Resolution, designating her as a California Latino honoree. The celebratory and impactful event honored influential Latinos in various industries and was held last night, May 6, 2024 at the California State Capitol in Sacramento, CA.
Lupita Infante was honored alongside a diverse roster of incredibly powerful and influential Latinos such as Rita Moreno, Luis Valdez, Dolores Huerta, Isabel Allende, Los Tigres Del Norte, Rigoberta Menchu-Tum, and the Hon. Marco A. Firebaugh. The California Latino Legislative Caucus is compromised of 35 Legislators (24 Members of the Assembly and 11 Members of the Senate) and three statewide Constitutional Officers, and is one of California’s most influential organizations with a primary focus on improving the quality of life for California’s Latino community.
This marks Lupita’s third honoree by the state of California in just 2024, as she was recently honored with the “Mayor’s Excellence Award” by the City of Downey, as well as was a featured performer during the “The National Legislative Conference and Awards Gala of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC)”. With another prestigious award recognition under her belt, Infante is cementing her legacy as one of the most critically adored Musica Mexicana acts of the new generation.
Lupita Infante recently released her new single “Tengo Mal Gusto”, a song in which Lupita reflects on the decisions that women make when in love, and the epitome of falling for a not-so-good partner.
