Miami, FL (April 25, 2024) – With a landmark album that will redefine the boundaries of music storytelling, Jay Wheeler creates a narrative that explores time, choice and destiny with his seventh studio album, “Música Buena, Para Días Malos” (MB / PDM). Released by Dynamic Records, the new album explores the variable outcomes of choices made in the search of love and balance, and will inspire audiences to evaluate the outcomes of choices made through alternative realities. Produced by long-time collaborators Kevin Omar Ortiz (Bones) and Elvin Jesus Roubert Rodríguez (Botlock), among others, the fourteen (14) track collection expands on an individual’s self-discovery, taking listeners through a journey of unwavering emotions. From the album’s opening track, “Admítelo”, to collaborative tracks “Textos Fríos” (ft. Mora), “Maquillaje” (ft. Noreh) and the transformative track “Lo Nuestro” (ft. Wheeler’s wife Zhamira), the songs express the different phases of love, heartbreak, desire, regret and hope. About the meaning of the album, Wheeler expressed, “I feel that ‘Good Music, For Bad Days’ is the best album I’ve made in my entire career, because it demonstrates not only my musical growth, but my personal growth as well. It’s been a long time since music has been made in a way that you can feel it in the depths of your heart.” |
In tandem with the album, Wheeler masterfully depicts decisions made through alternate realities using an avant-garde approach to storytelling through a sci-fi themed video collection. Directed by the creative collective FilmHeads, each visualizer was inspired by techniques used in the blockbuster feature films “Everything Everywhere All at Once” and “Dune” and the popular TV series “Loki”. Each visualizer is meant to create a unique narrative that connects a love story, where the outcome is based on decisions made, and will leave audiences wondering what could have been if different choices were made.
