Miami, FL (October 27, 2023) – Puerto Rican urban artist, Jay Wheeler, is gearing up to release his latest album, “TRAPPii,” this Friday. The album, consisting of 12 songs, will showcase Wheeler‘s diverse musical style, including hit tracks like the “Pacto Remix,” “Gangsta Luv,” “Repeat,” and “La Ultima Canción.” To celebrate the album’s release, Wheeler treated media and fans to an exclusive screening of a short film in Puerto Rico (Cine Metro) on Monday night, and Miami at Silverspot Cinema on Tuesday night. The short film was directed by Jose Sagaro for FilmHeads.
When asked about his decision to venture into the trap Latin genre, Wheeler expressed his love for his romantic roots while also expressing his desire to explore new sounds. He stated, “I will never leave my essence or romantic music behind. That’s what I’m passionate about, what makes me happy. But you also have to demonstrate versatility without taking away from anyone. I wanted to try something new.” Wheeler further explained how the success of his song “Pacto,” which became a viral sensation on TikTok with over 700K+ videos user created, influenced his decision to deep dive the Latin trap genre path, saying, “Many great things happened with “Pacto”, and I took it upon myself to follow that same line based on what my fans were telling me and asking me.”
With his exceptional talent, Wheeler has managed to captivate audiences worldwide, and “TRAPPii” promises to showcase his evolution as an artist.
