More than 1.9 million fans across the United States, Canada, and Latin America enjoyed Daddy Yankee’s farewell tour, where he performed a total of 85 explosive shows.
Miami, FL. (December 23, 2022) – After more than 1.9 million attendees and 85 SOLD OUT shows between the U.S., Canada, and Latin America, Daddy Yankee’s “La Última Vuelta” becomes the second-highest grossing Latin tour of 2022. This Thursday, December 22, the legend himself wrapped up his 22-week long tour at the FTX Arena in Miami with a one-of-a-kind show that will undoubtedly leave an impact on fans and make history demonstrating why Yankee is considered ‘the greatest of all time’.
“It truly means a lot to me that everyone is here tonight as I wrap up my final tour. To all my fans worldwide, I want to thank you very much for your support and for opening the doors not only to me but to a whole movement from scratch. I remember when I was 13 or 14 years old, I was a kid with a vision, many dreams and aspirations, and as time went by, I saw beautiful audiences worldwide. Looking back, I can say it was worth the effort and sacrifice. Thank you, family”, said Daddy Yankee at the last concert of his career.
The tour kicked off July 25 in Denver, Colorado with the stage set up being built at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, just a week before the tour was slated to begin. Each show featured a 3-level stage that was used by both Daddy Yankee and his dancers throughout the entire concert. Additionally, a 3,600 square foot holographic screen was used along with an array of 180 Laser Beams which formed a massive wall along the length of the stage.
Each and every one of the 85 shows was a celebration of Daddy Yankee’s career spanning 30 years which took the underground genre of reggaeton to the next level. Accompanied by a full band, a set of dancers with some of the most impressive looks and even better performances, the global icon connected with his audience between each song, dance, and shout. His setlist included hits from every decade that put him on the map and cemented him as the godfather of reggaeton. Some of these tracks included “Problema”, “Rompe”, “Machucando”, “Lo que pasó, pasó”, “Llamado de Emergencia”, “Despacito”, as well as songs from his last album “Legendaddy” such as “Campeón”, “Rumbatón” y “Remix” ending the epic night with “Gasolina”, the song that revolutionized the music industry and created a global movement that would last a lifetime.
During these 5 months of touring, several records were broken including during the closing of his tour in Latin America that took place at the Foro Sol in Mexico City, becoming the only artist to achieve 5 Sold Out shows with more than 365,000 tickets sold, surpassing the record of Coldplay. Also, the Santander Arena in Philadelphia confirmed that Daddy Yankee broke the record for the highest-grossing show in its history.
Promoted by Cardenas Marketing Network and Raphy Pina, MR Sold Out, the five-month tour with more than 85 dates included performances in some of the prestigious arenas across North America and Latin America. Without a doubt, a more than deserved farewell for the worldwide music icon!
