Miami, FL. (October 15, 2026) – GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY®-nominated Mexican music singer-songwriter Lupita Infante received La Musa Elena Casals Award during the 13th annual LA MUSA AWARDS, presented by the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame on October 14 at the Flamingo Theater Ballroom at The Four Ambassadors in Miami. The special honor recognizes her career and contributions to Latin music during an evening dedicated to celebrating the songwriters and creators behind some of the most influential songs in Spanish-language music.
Infante received the award from Elizabeth Rodda of peermusic. In her acceptance speech, she expressed her gratitude to the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame founders Desmond Child and Rudy Pérez and shared how music became a way for her to reconnect with her roots following her father’s passing in 2009. “I’m so grateful… I want to thank the founders of the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame, Desmond Child and Rudy Pérez, for this recognition that bears Elena Casals’ name. In 2009, when I lost my father, I began my journey in music. I had no idea what was gonna come of music. I was just looking to connect with my roots, to find culture, to celebrate who I am, and I can’t believe we’re here,” said Lupita Infante.
The artist also thanked her parents, her team, management, and the peermusic family for believing in her from the beginning of her career and giving her her first contract. She also shared a special message for her husband, Sonny. “This year has been incredible, and this journey has helped me discover who I am. I also want to give special thanks to my husband, Sonny. We accidentally started working together, and now we’re deeply committed to this journey. Te Amo,” she concluded.
This honor adds to Lupita’s growing list of accolades, which includes the LULAC Latino Spirit Award, the City of Downey, California’s Mayor’s Award of Excellence, and recognition from Los Angeles County for her impact and contributions to the Latino community, presented during Hispanic Heritage Month in September 2026.
Recently, Lupita released “Con Una, Dos, o Tres” alongside Chiquis, a female empowerment anthem about finding the strength to overcome heartbreak and start anew. The collaboration brings together two artists who carry on influential Mexican music legacies: Lupita, granddaughter of legendary Pedro Infante, and Chiquis, daughter of Jenni Rivera, continuing the legacy of iconic figures in the genre.
