Miami, FL (August 25, 2026) – Colombian icon Carlos Vives joined Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic this past Sunday, August 23, for A Concert for Venezuela, a benefit concert held at the Hollywood Bowl to raise funds in support of relief efforts following the earthquakes that struck Venezuela last June.
As part of the event, the Colombian artist performed two of his greatest classics, “La Tierra del Olvido” and “Quiero Verte Sonreír,” bringing a showcase of his country’s rich musical heritage to the stage during a night marked by solidarity and Latin American unity. During his performance, Vives also expressed his solidarity with his homeland, Colombia, which is also facing difficult times following the recent earthquake that impacted the country.
The concert, led by Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, brought together renowned artists including Beck, Eduardo Betancourt, Meme del Real of Café Tacvba, Jorge Glem, Natalia Lafourcade, Lasso, and Moisés Torrealba, who joined the initiative in support of the Venezuelan people. As a special surprise of the night, Chris Martin joined the stage, adding an unexpected moment to the evening in solidarity with Venezuela.
With A Concert for Venezuela, music once again became a vehicle for solidarity, bringing artists and audiences together around a shared cause of support and hope for Venezuela.
On August 29, Carlos Vives will be part of a special edition of The Juanpis Live Show under the motto “Si nos organizamos cabemos todos.” Bogotá’s Movistar Arena will host more than 10 Colombian artists, including Vives, for a day of solidarity supporting the reconstruction of homes affected by the earthquake that struck Colombia on August 10.
Vives is getting ready to bring a little joy to Colombians with his Tour Al Sol 2026.
