As the conceptual sequel to the successful Trappii universe, the project marks a new chapter for the next generation of Latin trap, delivering an authentic, versatile sound rooted in a strong sense of identity.
The release is already making a major impact. The official music video for “After” has become the most-viewed video in the world on YouTube, while the song has simultaneously reached No. 1 on Apple Music in Puerto Rico, further cementing Conep as one of the fastest-rising artists in Latin urban music.
Reflecting on how the idea for TRAPPii 2 came together and the creative process behind the album, Conep shared: “At first, we were going to call it Ronniel because I wanted people to connect with me on a personal level. But as the process unfolded, I realized that what I was creating was trap. I was searching for a new sound and blending it with other styles, but in the end, I was making pure trap. TRAPPii is my favorite project because it was the first time I wrote music with a major artist who also happens to be my brother, Jay Wheeler, so I felt it was the right time to continue that story. Naturally, I began removing the reggaeton and other genre tracks and adding more trap until we fully embraced the sound and created the perfect project. TRAPPii 2 represents a turning point in my career.”
