| Miami, FL. (December 5, 2025) — The legacy of Jenni Rivera continues to grow with the release of the album “La Gran Señora – Banda”, a production that revisits the iconic album originally released in December 2009, exactly 16 years ago. It now comes with new banda arrangements that preserve the powerful performance of the eternal Diva de la Banda, who loved performing her songs in banda versions during her live concerts. Released under Jenni Rivera Enterprises and distributed via Virgin Music Group, “La Gran Señora – Banda” debuted on December 4 at 7:11 PM PST (10:11 PM EST), in honor of Jenni Rivera’s birth time. Juan Ángel “Johnny” López, Jenni’s youngest son, served as Creative Director for this album, honoring the essence of the iconic artist with a level of detail only someone so close to her could bring. Johnny, alongside his siblings, continues to celebrate Jenni Rivera’s life and legacy through projects that showcase her authenticity and everlasting connection with her fans. The musical production was led by recent Latin GRAMMY winner Luciano Luna. “It has been 13 years since my mother passed, and the love and support she continues to receive is truly moving. Her legacy lives on thanks to each and every one of you. Today, I have the honor of sharing a moment that feels like a full circle: we are releasing her album under Virgin Music, together with Víctor González, with whom she signed her last contract 14 years ago. Life has a special way of closing stories, and this moment is deeply meaningful. A very special thanks to Johnny for believing so much in this project,” said Jacqie Rivera, Jenni’s daughter and CEO of Jenni Rivera Enterprises. Her brother and Creative Director of the project, Johnny López, added: “I’m super excited to finally be able to share this album with my mom’s fans and expand her already amazing catalog with more Banda tracks for her fan base to enjoy, celebrate and remember her with this season and many years to come.” “Jenni Rivera’s music transcends generations, and we are so excited be a part of this next chapter in celebrating her legacy by working on this album and future projects,” said Víctor González, Executive Vice President and President, Latin America and Iberian Peninsula, Virgin Music Group, and Armando Rodríguez, Senior Vice President and General Manager of U.S. Latin, Virgin Music Group. All the songs on “La Gran Señora – Banda” retain the original vocals from the 2009 mariachi album, with the only exception being “Yo Soy Una Mujer,” which includes previously unreleased audio recorded by Jenni in 2008. This musical gem was preserved all these years in Jenni’s personal archive. Additionally, the album features authentic, never-before-heard moments of the artist, including iconic phrases from her concerts, such as “Y le dice a su cara bonita que me pela toda la banana la güey!” in “La Cara Bonita,” and the unmistakable “¿Y me estás oyendo, vieja pioja?” in “La Gran Señora.” In the track “Por Qué No Le Calas,” the album also includes the phrase “Cálele mijo… cálele cabrón, jaja ay,” which was recorded in the studio but not included in the original version. |
