Miami, FL. (August 15, 2025) – In a masterful union for Colombian music, Carlos Vives and the legendary Grupo Niche present a new version of La Tierra del Olvido, the anthem that changed the course of modern vallenato and Caribbean sound, now expanded with the power and elegance of Pacific salsa. This collaboration is part of the release of the album La Tierra del Olvido – 30 Años (Remastered & Expanded), a commemorative edition celebrating three decades of one of the most iconic albums in Latin American music.
Two icons, two sounds, one same land. For the first time, Carlos Vives and Grupo Niche—undisputed symbols of identity and rhythm—come together in a performance filled with emotion, flavor, and memory. This new version premiered during the serenade to Santa Marta for its 500th anniversary, where both artists performed the song live in front of more than one hundred thousand people, with the Caribbean Sea as a witness.
“La Tierra del Olvido allowed us to reconnect with our essence, and with Niche, we were able to bring that message into another musical universe: salsa. It’s a celebration of who we are as Colombians, our diversity, and our cultural richness,” commented Carlos Vives.
From Cali, the voices of Grupo Niche, under the musical direction of José Aguirre, bring a fresh vision deeply rooted in salsa tradition: “We are going to give this gift to the fans of both, it’s an honor for us to do this collaboration, a dream come true, two worlds that end up being one… We are happy to share the story of maestro Carlos Vives with this universal version.”

This collaboration represents not only a milestone for both artists but also for the musical history of Colombia. In a time when fusions are commonplace, this version of La Tierra del Olvido goes beyond the commercial: it is a symbolic act of unity between two genres that have conquered the world—Vives’ renewed vallenato and salsa.
During the recording of the song at GML Studios, La torre de lata, the team also captured the images that will accompany the song on YouTube, showing the camaraderie and joy shared by everyone in making the collaboration a reality.
