Mayna Nevarez / Chief Executive Officer
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and a Graduate of Communications from La Universidad Sagrado Corazon, Mayna is an entrepreneur who specializes in Public Relations for the Entertainment and Corporate Industries. With over 20 years experience, her big break as Publicity Manager for the International Record Label, BMG US LATIN (AKA: SONY-BMG) where she worked six years collaborating with then-up and coming artists such as Cristian Castro and Alexandre Pires. Her immense passion would lead her to eventually team up with established artists like Juan Gabriel, Christina Aguilera and Santana.
From her humble beginnings being as the Chief Editor for En Punto college section of Puerto Rico’s most read newspaper El Nuevo Dia, to Lead Editor of Teen Magazine en Español, she then decided to broaden her own path. In 2003, Mayna launched Nevarez Communications were she became one of South Florida’s first Latin Independent Publicist. With instant success, in 2011 Nevarez won the Women of the Year in Entertainment by NAWBO, was a nominee by Billboard Magazine for Women of The Year in Music. Mayna was also on the advisory board for Billboard Music Conference 2013 and a member of the Latin Grammy committees. Mayna Nevarez has also been a guest speaker on CNN en Espanol Showbiz; AHAA (National Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies) and Latin Billboard Conferences. She is an active Board Member of The March of Dimes.
Rene Rodriguez / Principal and COO
A seasoned business developer and business manager with more than 18 years of experience, Mr. Rodriguez has acted as General Manager and Marketing Director of several organizations prior to becoming part of the Nevarez Communications, Inc. management team. Prior to joining Nevarez Communications, Mr. Rodriguez was the General Manager for the technology implementation division of Florida for Woolpert, Inc., a Consulting firm with more than 94 years in the market. Mr. Rodriguez was responsible of coordinating operations within his region and was responsible for setting the business strategy, mentoring and directing projects for City, County and State Government.
Mr. Rodriguez has served as a Project Director and Liaison on multimillion dollar projects within the Miami Dade County region, to include; Geographic Information Systems and Enterprise Asset Management implementations in the Miami International Airport and Miami Dade Water and Sewer Department.
As COO of Nevarez Communications he brings years of experience in structuring and implementing large projects with complex change management and communication components.
Mr. Rodriguez is an expert in structuring complex business models to develop, strategize an implement large scale events, Talent Management teams, and product development plans. With years of experience in business development, marketing, and complex contract negotiations, Mr. Rodriguez brings a wealth of experience in managing projects that impact the culture and infrastructure of a community or organization.
During the past two years he’s been focused in helping the development of different enterprises within Puerto Rico and the United States, all this as a result of the services Nevarez Communications offers their clients, as well as, the marketing arm of Nevarez Communications, and Brew N Motion.
Claudia D’Amico / Operations Manager
Claudia D’Amico has more than 17 years of experience in publishing, communications and event planning industry. Claudia has worked with the two of the most important publishing companies in USA: Cosmopolitan at Hearst Magazines and Glamour, Vogue and Architectural Digest at Condé Nast. Where she would manage the budgets for the magazines, as well as photo editor and in charge of directing all photo shoot productions. She has been involved in the organization of the Miami Fashion Week for several years. Claudia has also worked as a set stylist for the productions of Architectural Digest. In 2006, she was the recipient of the Gold Award by The Create Magazine for the producing of an editorial fashion spread published in a famous magazine.
Aside from her Office Operations duties at Nevarez Communications, were she manages all AP/AR, coordination’s of events, P.R. together with project support and directs all Administrative duties, Claudia oversees certain Marketing Research projects.
Claudia is proud to be part of the Membership Department for Women in Music’s Miami Chapter.
Michelle Velez / Director, Marketing & Publicity
Graduate of the University of Florida, Michelle is a seasoned marketing and communications professional with 15+ years of experience in the entertainment industry. At Nevarez Communications team, she will oversee integrated marketing, PR and digital efforts for the leading multi-cultural boutique firm’s roster of clients with the purpose of delivering strategies and integrated campaigns that align with the client’s vision. Michelle initiated her career at Sony Music Latin, where she became a leading Product Manager working both International and U.S. Latin markets. She helped establish the label’s digital department by fostering relationships with key digital clients and executed marketing strategies with Apple Music and AT&T. She would later join Universal Music Latin’s team to lead marketing initiatives. In 2012, she was tapped by WK Entertainment to develop and oversee the local and international strategy for Carlos Vives’ multi-platinum album and tour Corazon Profundo, after a 7 year hiatus from international audiences.
Ms. Velez’s currently serves as Assistant Vice Chair of Fundraising for Women in Music’s Miami Chapter and a LARAS (The Latin Recording Academy) member.
Dominique Arevalo / Publicist
Throughout her childhood, Dominique was always picking up various instruments, only verifying her passion for music. As she grew older, she knew that she wanted music to somehow be incorporated into her future career. At the age of 19, Dominique interned with Nevarez Communications, and realized that entertainment PR was exactly what she was looking for. She proceeded to major in public relations, and graduated form Florida International University with a degree in Public Relations Advertising & Applied Communications. Currently, she holds the position of Publicist at Nevarez Communications, and plans to begin her studies Fall of 2019 to achieve a masters degree.
Guillermo de la Paz / Marketing Coordinator
Guillermo de la Paz is currently working as Marketing Coordinator at Nevarez Communications. Since his arrival in 2017, he has collaborated on numerous promotional campaigns for artists such as Daddy Yankee, Carlos Vives, Gente de Zona, Natti Natasha, and Elvis Crespo to name a few. Guillermo has also worked in the production of various corporate and entertainment events throughout his time. He is a versatile employee passionate about music, artists relations, and business. When he isn’t working, you can find him with friends and family, at the beach, or playing basketball.
