“Con Calma” also reached #1 in sales on iTunes Latino Charts in over 50 countries
Miami, FL (June 13, 2019)– Daddy Yankee’s “Con Calma” is taking the world by storm and is following the steps of its predecessors “Despacito”, “Dura” and “Shaky Shaky”. At four months of its official debut on YouTube, the global smash and chart-topping track’s music video (Featuring Snow) has surpassed the one billion mark in views on YouTube.
“Con Calma” has topped the charts in 19 countries around the world and has spent seven weeks at #1 on Billboard’s “Hot Latin Songs”. In Argentina, Daddy Yankee broke the record for the most weeks at #1, at ten consecutive weeks. “Con Calma” also has reached #1 in sales on iTunes Latino charts in more than 50 countries, including Japan, Germany, France, India, Sweden, Turkey, Portugal, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Slovenia, Hungary, among others. The single also became the “Most-Streamed” song on Deezer global charts and #1 on Shazam Global charts.
The music video is the #1 video published in 2019, passing the 1 billion views. Filmed between Los Angeles and Toronto, and directed by Marlon Peña, the video also featured Canadian reggae rapper, Snow.
The track is a remake of Snow’s 1992 single “Informer” and was written by Daddy Yankee, Snow, and produced by Play-N-Skillz and Juan “Gaby Music” Rivera. A remix version with Katy Perry was released on April 19, 2019, and its performance was premiered on this year’s American Idol’s Finale episode which aired on ABC.
