An Exceptional Year for an Exceptional Artist: Dalex’s 2019 Recap

Miami, FL (December 18, 2019) – Totaling billions of views on YouTube, being named Billboard’s Latin Artist on the Rise, representing Puerto Rico at MIDEM’s “Artist Accelerator Program,” his first award show nomination and much more – Dalex has had a whirlwind of a year.

Since the beginning of 2019, Puerto Rican urban Artist, Dalex, has not strayed from the top. In early February, Dalex released the remix to his hit song “Pa’ Mi,” featuring Sech, Feid, Lenny Tavárez, Cazzu, Khea, and Rafa Pabon which quickly began to takeover the charts. Within just 3 short weeks of its release, “Pa’ Mi Remix” had already hit #1 on Apple Music and Spotify in over 5 different countries.

In March of 2019, Dalex was preselected for MIDEM’s “Artist Accelerator Program”. As 1 of only 11 selected, Dalex attended multiple songwriting sessions and performed live on the beautiful beach of Cannes, France. By April, Dalex’s hit single “Pa’ Mi Remix” had reached #1 in over 20 countries including Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Panama and Paraguay, and was RIAA certified 3x Platinum. The breakout urban artist also attended and walked the carpet at his first Latin Billboard Awards.

On May 10th, 2019, Dalex released his debut album “CLIMAXXX” which has been on Billboard’s “Top Latin Albums” chart for over 31 weeks. Collectively, the album tracks alone have over 123 million listenings on YouTube and over 600 million streams on Spotify. The success of the album led to Dalex’s title of Billboard’s “Latin Artist on the Rise,” and his first award show nomination at Premios Juventud for “New Urban Generation.” The singer also experienced his first live television performances; singing his smash hit “Pa’ Mi Remix” along with Sech, Feid, Cazzu, Rafa Pabon and Lenny Tavárez, and “Que Mas Pues” alongside Sech, Farruko, Lenny Tavárez and Maluma, ending a successful summer with a bang.

Fall of 2019, Dalex began his “Cuaderno” Back to School Tour, performing at various high schools throughout Florida and connecting with his younger fanbase. The tour ended at Celebration High School in Kissimmee, FL with over 1,000 students reciting every single word to Dalex’s famous single “Cuaderno,” which currently holds over 100 million views on YouTube.   
 
Aside from releasing his long awaited solo album “Climaxxx,” Dalex also participated in a collaboration album with various members of “The New Wave” of urban music. The album Rich Music Presents: The Academy, consists of the acclaimed “Avengers,” a nickname Dalex, Sech, Feid, Justin Quiles, Dímelo Flow, and Lenny Tavárez deemed as a testament to their friendship.  Along with the original members of “The Avengers” the album also features various collaborations from other side-artists such as De La Ghetto, Wisin, Zion, Cazzu, and more. The album currently holds over 178 million streams on Spotify, over 20 million plays on Apple Music, and over 211 million views on YouTube since its release on October 11th, and is ranked #11 on Vibe Magazine’s 25 Best LatinX Albums of 2019. Dalex’s “Climaxxx” is also on the list at number 24. 
 
  
What is 2020 looking like for the artist? Dalex has recently been nominated for 4 awards (Top Masculine Revelation, New Generation Song, and New Generation Album for both Climaxxx and The Academy) at Premios Tu Musica Urbano next March and is preparing for his FIRST upcoming US tour opening up for Sech, starting February 2020. 2019 was only the beginning.
