

Rums of Puerto Rico hosts star-studded Scope’s VIP reception at their VIP Lounge, as well as the ArteFoundation group
MIAMI, FL – December 7, 2009 — Rums of Puerto Rico is a VIP Lounge level sponsor at the Scope Miami Art Show that took place from December 2-6, 2009. With a star-studded kick-off event on Wednesday, December 2, the VIP guests enjoyed the experience of hors d’ouvres by Chef Carlo Villamil and cocktail drinks mixed with a variety of Rums from Puerto Rico. Expert Rum Bartenders entertained the VIP guests with a variety of Rum Drinks that kept the bars busy during the entire event. Beautiful Rones de Puerto Rico models handed Goodie bags containing rum samples, accessories, as well as literature about the variety and history of Puertorican Rums.
Rum ambassador Ahmed Otero offered his expert mixes and knowledge to event participants. Grammy Award winner, Nestor Torres, entertained the guests. Celebrity chefs such as Cipri Gar, Chef Pepin and Doreen Colondres; TV hosts Melissa Marty, Carlos Gastelum and Rafael Mercadante; TV actor Bernhard, and Grammy winner drummer J.J., were also present, among others.
Scope is the world’s leading contemporary art show featuring galleries and artists from over 25 countries around the world.

Our promotional campaign also includes sponsorships around the US, making appearances at some of the most recognized gastronomic, sports, art, and fashion events. Among them are promotional luncheons for Saborea Puerto Rico in cities such as Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, and Washington, DC as well as Food & Spirit Festivals in select markets; sport events such as the Legg Mason Tennis Classic in Washington, DC; Miami’s SCOPE Art Show; and New York’s Fashion Week.
Appearing for the first time at Scope, Rums of Puerto Rico is also sponsoring the art exhibits of five artists from ArteFoundation, a non-profit organization that aims to generate interest in original editions on paper and multiples through exhibits of works. This is part of the company’s commitment to supporting the arts throughout Puerto Rico and the US.

In addition, Rums of Puerto Rico Ambassador and Mixologist Ahmed Otero showed off the variety of rums from Puerto Rico and displayed how they blend more desirably than other spirits. Rums of Puerto Rico set up three bars including a Sipping Rums bar with ‘Añejos’, featuring Don Q Gran Añejo, Bacardi Reserva Limitada, Bacardi Reserva Añejo, Trigo’s Reserva Añeja and Ron del Barrilito Tres Estrellas; a serving bar presenting a specialty drink called Red Rum; and an Open Bar where you could ask for your favorite rum drink.Red Rum is a delicious cocktail made with 1.5 oz light Puerto Rican rum, .5 oz Bacardi Peach Red, 3 oz pomegranate juice and 1 oz pineapple juice. You fill a shaker with ice and add all the ingredients. Then you shake and strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a pineapple wedge and cherries.
